Coming of Age Harry
Throughout the novels readers and viewers alike have grown up with Harry Potter. As we've grown up with him readers have experienced trauma, heartbreak, growth and inspiration. In the first novel, readers got to know a young and innocent Harry. But as he ages we get to know the real Harry. He is forced to go through several traumatic experiences at such a young age that it's no wonder he struggles to keep calm all of the time. We see how he gets mad at his father, Dumbledore, Hermione, Ron, and even his godfather Sirius. After realizing how to cope with his anger, Harry is faced with the task of defeating Voldemort. Once he learns that he has a lot of things to learn and master before facing him, readers get to see Harry grow up and mature into "the chosen one." Entering the seventh book, Harry is faced with a very harsh and lonely reality. He is forced to be separated from Dumbledore and Sirius. He has to grow up and face the reality that he is the only one who can defeat Voldemort. It's his coming of age story.
